Board of Directors

As a non-profit organization the New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition is managed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of its membership stakeholders.  The Board meets monthly to discuss business and to develop strategies to meet the ever-evolving needs of our membership.

Lt. Christine Klag (ret.)

Chairperson of the Board

Christine Klag is a retired Lieutenant with the North Bergen Police Department.  As a accreditation manager for a city police department, she has a unique experience level that often assists organizations experiencing difficulties with their program.

Capt. Margaret Schmidt (ret)

Chief Financial Director

Peggy Schmidt is a retired Captain with the Woodbridge Police Department.  She is a highly experienced CALEA assessor.  Peggy has mentored many CALEA accreditation managers who have successfully brought their organization through accreditation.

Capt. Ashley Heiberger, J.D. (ret.)

Board Member

Captain Heiberger retired from the Bethlehem Pennsylvania Police Department.  He was the commander of the Professional Standards Division and Records Bureau.  Captain Heiberger also serves the PAC as the Director of Constitutional Policing and advises members on constitutionally sound policy development.  He also teaches for the Coalition.

Chief Louis Moreto (ret.)

Board Member

Chief Moreto retired from the Manalapan Township Police Department.  During his tenure, his leadership took the agency through numerous accreditation cycles.  Chief Moreto is an expert in the CALEA accreditation program.

Det. Robert Sanger

Board Member

Rob Sanger is an active duty Detective with the Fairfield Township Police Department.  As a long-time NJSACOP accreditation manager he has a level of experience unrivaled by many.  Rob is an instructor and mentor for the Coalition.

Sgt. Theodore Bremer Jr. (ret)

Chief Executive Officer

Ted Bremer is a retired Sergeant with the Long Hill Township Police Department.  He is a nationally recognized expert regarding accreditation.  Ted is a co-founder of The Rodgers Group, a premier police consulting team in New Jersey.

Sgt. John M. DeMillio

Board Secretary

John DeMillio is an active duty Sergeant with the Sea Girt Police Department.  He has brought his organization through NJSACOP accreditation multiple times.  In addition to being a Board Secretary, John represents his region and teaches for the Coalition.

Lt. William Bastedo (ret.)

Board Member

Bill Bastedo is a retired Lieutenant with the West Windsor Township Police Department.  He has been a Board member for over a decade.  Bill is regarded as an expert in the NJSACOP accreditation program, and he is an instructor for the Coalition.

Capt. Donna Roman-Hernandez (ret.)

Board Member

Captain Raman-Hernandez retired from the Caldwell Police Department.  She is a Domestic Violence Police Specialist, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault master trainer, a Domestic Violence Response Team trainer and a police academy instructor.
